Water Balloon Dynamics

Lastly, for this project, we all went outside to find the perfect photo to catch the balloon popping just in time to see the water. It took some time to find the right photo because we had to adjust the camera to different modes. But in the end, it took a lot of patience to capture the right photo.

The shutter speed that I used was 800. It varied because in static subjects, you can capture the photo at any moment, and you don’t have to wait as long for the photo to come out right. And for Dynamic moments, it takes a lot of patience for the photo to capture a certain object. The challenges were that sometimes when I took the picture, it would come out unfocused and too bright. But constantly changing it caused the pictures to come out right.

The lesson that I learned is that there are many different ways of taking a photo without being able to see. This expanded my creativity by using other senses to find that to take a picture of or how I would take that photo.

Blindfolded Test

This was a difficult project because we had to use any other sense besides sight. Doing this challenge meant that there were different ways to find something to take a photo of. For example, you could do touch, hearing, sound, etc., but for me, I mainly used touch.

At Home Photos

Being blindfolded changed my experience because I learned that using my other senses caused me to take photos at an angle that I wouldn’t have taken them from. I was investigating what I could feel with touch and just followed what my hands were touching. Doing this caused me to find different angles and helped me build better focus with taking pictures of what I touched.

Shadows and Light

Within this project we were told to make art with shadows and use the light to help with the shadow. There are many ways to angle the light to make the shadow look interesting.

Having the different angles made the size of the shadow bigger or smaller and more focused in some angles.

This was my shadow work for my final project, which showed how the amount of light in this photo caused the shadow to show.

In this photo, which was a lab, I tried different angles, which caused me to get this photo.

The reason why I chose to do my name with a heart is because it represents me and how much I love everything about myself. The different structures influenced the shadow to reflect the shapes by making it bigger in some angles and smaller in others. Changing the light angles caused the shadow to be bigger or smaller and sometimes more or less focused. My understanding of shadows changed because it showed me how it could be more focused, and depending on how far the light is, it can change the size of the shadow.

Light Paintings

For this light painting project, we were challenged to paint inside of the photo with light as shown in each photo; there are different ways to paint with light. We were in different rooms using different colors, which caused us to each have different ideas.

Pete Eckert was a blind photographer who painted with light. He did a lot of different things, like drawing inside of objects and even around them.

This was my attempt to recreate his image by making a drawing around someone.

This image was a freestyle of just doing random movements around an object and using assorted colors that would go along with it.

Patience plays a key role in this because you must wait until the camera can focus and find the right angles and lighting. The best part for photographing my shadows and light was getting to use different lights and finding different angles from which to shoot the camera.

I took these two images because they both show the shadows. The garbage can show the darkest shadow. And the plants shadow was very thin which as interesting to me. I experienced the value of the trash can with looking at it from different angles. And for the plant it was also from the different angles. My favorite part of the trash can is how the bag had a shining light coming from it. And I liked how from each angle the shadow was dark. And from the plant I enjoyed how thin the plant and its shadow were. it was very interesting to me how I experienced how thin the shadow could get from each angle. But the overall experience showed me how you could get very thin and very thick shadows from the different photos and angles.

The End of 2024

These three photos came from our color emotions project. It was done in October, and they were chosen because they show how each photo changed their emotion to how I wanted them to be just from the color. The overall process was learning how to change how the photo was feeling by changing the color.

However, these three photos are from the principles of art. The first photo is contrast in size. the second one is based on being focused. and the last one is about the viewpoint. These photos were chosen because they are my best photos to show what they are called. the process in learning this was taking multiple shots of it being any type of principle of art.

This project is from the alphabet project. it was chosen because it represents the letter “U” which shows you can find any letter from anything. The overall process in this picture is finding out how to find a specific letter from a random object from where you are.

This photo was from the glow in the dark project. It was chosen because it was my best photo to glow in the dark and was a very fun and somewhat easy assignment. The overall process was to show how you can make things stand out with it glowing.

This photo is from the principles of art project. It shows how you can take different pictures from different angles. I chose this picture because it’s my favorite position from angling the key. The learning process of this project was to show that there are many different angles you can find within a photo.

This photo is from the mobile scavenger hunt. It was chosen because it was my favorite photo and project from 2024. This photo shows how you had specific things to take pictures of. And lastly, the process of this photo was to find different themes to take a photo of.

Learning File Formats

JPEG is a smaller format than some others that stores many JPEGs in just one memory card, and it means “Joint Photographic Experts Group.” It is faster with file transfer time than others.

HEIF stands for “High Efficiency Image Format,” which is smaller than JPEGs and has a file storage that is high quality. And just by using some editing programs, it can be processed. But it offers the same benefits as JPEG.

TIFF is “Tagged Image File Format.” Which can be used when people need adjustments when editing their software, and it has a higher printing quality.

RAW is basically what it says it is and is to store what was originally captured in the camera. Which makes image-editing software easier.

DNG, also known as “Digital Negative,” is to provide a RAW file to be used by cameras and manufacturers. It can guard against future incompatibilities and can be accessed by Lightroom and Photoshop.

PNG is for viewing and detailing to retain detail and has good image quality. Overlays and logos can be maintained.

GIF is mainly good for web use and can contain animations. But it has a limited color palette of 256 colors.

BMP is mainly used on the Windows platform to help with printing and has a high quality.

PSD is used on separate layers to manipulate images. And after editing, it is saved as another file format.

Remembering the Impact

September 11, 2001, was an unfortunate event. It involved four terrorist attacks on the United States twin towers by the Islamist extremist group al-Qaeda. Around 3,000 people died. People were scared, and plenty with injuries. Most of the fatalities were from the attacks on the World Trade Center. The Pentagon lost 184 civilians and service members, and 40 people were killed on Flight 93. It was the worst attack on American soil since the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. To me, I didn’t have a huge experience with this event, but I know what the people that faced it went through. But since I didn’t have anyone that I knew go through this, anyone who did would be upset and confused on why this had to happen.

Documentary photography is any photo that is being described that attempt to record the world as it is. It can impact learning about society by showing people the definition of something in an image. it can also just show more about something that you didn’t know in a worded explanation.by seeing it within an image or some images. imagery impacts it by showing more than telling because seeing an image of what is being told could is giving more information about something than telling is.
